'Viking knit' weaving is a very satisfying and historic technique produceing a strong, hand-woven, flexible chain that can be used for bracelets and necklaces for men and women.

The beauty of this technique is that you don't need any previous jewellery making, or even crafting experience. You also don't need to bring any tools or materials. And if you want to continue making Viking knit jewellery, the equipment costs are quite affordable – Eimear can tell you more on the day.

All of the participants will leave the workshop with at least one finished piece of jewellery, and hopefully a few new friends.

You'll get lots of hands-on help from Eimear as well as printed step-by-step instructions in this fun and relaxed three-hour workshop.

The workshop is held in the new Cois Abhann Community Centre, which boasts several picture windows overlooking the River Nore in Inistioge, Co Kilkenny. If you've never visited the picturesque village of Inistioge, you're in for a real treat!

Known as the 'Jewel of the South East', Inistioge is a beautiful and historic village on the River Nore in South Kilkenny.  Its special character has made it one of the most visited places in the South East of Ireland for many decades, as well as the location for several movies including Widow's PeakCircle of Friends, The Secret Scripture, and Love's Portrait

Nestling in the Nore valley it offers some of the best scenery in the region, particularly in the recently restored gardens of the Woodstock estate.  The Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum were developed in the Victorian Era and in recent years have been restored to their original glory. The gardens, set overlooking the River Nore, offer the visitor a wide variety of attractions and are a most relaxing and beautiful environment in which to spend a day.
